Home Team: Schmeichel, Peltier, Morgan , St Ledger, Konchesky , Marshall (Drinkwater 71), Wellens, Danns, Dyer, Beckford (Howard 80), Nugent (Schlupp 74)

Away Team: Murphy, Keogh, Cranie, Clark, Christie, Bell (Baker 68), Deegan (Clingan 71), Norwood, McSheffrey (McDonald 79), Nimely , Platt

  • Two wins on the trot. It's a relatively novel feeling, for a Leicester City fan, but a good one: the Foxes have taken six points out of two league games for the first time this term. It was not undeserved either, as Leicester were far and away the better team against Coventry City and dominated large parts of last Thursday's fixture against Derby County. Now, City must continue this form if they stand any hope of creeping into the play-off places.
  • Nigel Pearson remains as optimistic as anybody. After the game the City manager was keen to talk-up Leicester's chances, admitting that, "If we show the same application we have in the last month or two, there is still a chance we can achieve something this season," Music to the ears of any Leicester fan.

Winners
David Nugent
City's big winner scored the opener and set-up the second. David Nugent led from the front to destroy Coventry's defence and, whilst he was the man in the right place at the right time to snatch Leicester's first, he was the key man in a beautiful period of play leading-up to Beckford's match-winner.

Jermaine Beckford
Alongside Nugent, Beckford is slowly but surely proving he may have a credible point to make in royal blue. He still has more work to do if he is to live up to his £2.5 million price tag but, alongside Nugent, he may yet be able to make a dent into that fortune.

Kasper Schmeichel
The Junior Great Dane's penalty save allowed Leicester to keep their two-goal lead before going down to ten men. With the Foxes only a goal ahead and a man down going into the last ten minutes, Coventry could easily have snatched a point. Even more important was Kasper Schmeichel's early save that prevented the visitors from taking the lead in the first place. He was crucially important in securing the Leicester win.

Losers
Paul Konchesky
A daft lunge with a high foot was the sole transgression by Paul Konchesky but it was enough in the eyes of referee Lee Probert to dismiss the full-back. With Leicester two goals to the good against a dire Coventry City team, this was not the most game-changing of red cards but it does continue the Foxes' dreadful disciplinary record this season.

Neil Danns
Likeable and lively off the pitch he may be - and certainly on form on it - Neil Danns proved against the Sky Blues that he is no spot-kick taker. His tame penalty was easily saved by Coventry goalkeeper Joe Murphy and, whilst his blushes were somewhat saved by Schmeichel's penalty stop, on another day Danns could have been the fall guy for a missed opportunity.

Conclusions will return tomorrow following the Foxes' away game at Bristol C
